Poets will perform for a live audience, and the audience will serve as the judges.

The winning poet will receive a cash prize and Content creation services.

  • Poets will perform in front of a live audience, with five audience judges scoring each round. To keep the process fair, the highest and lowest scores are dropped, and the three middle scores are added together for the final score.

Each round will have a set time limit. Poets will have a 10-second grace period, and after that, 0.5 points will be deducted for every additional 10 seconds over time. Audience energy is also part of the culture of the slam, so the room matters just as much as the words.

    Poets should keep in mind:

    • five audience judges will score each round

    • the highest and lowest scores are removed

    • the three middle scores make up the final score

    • a 10-second grace period is allowed

    • 1 point is deducted for every extra 10 seconds over the limit

Audience reaction is also part of the culture of the slam. Snaps, cheers, laughter, and even boos help shape the energy.

  • By signing up to perform, poets understand and agree that this event will be recorded through video, audio, and photography. Footage from the event may be used and shared online for promotional, marketing, recap, and content purposes connected to the poetry slam and future events.

Poets should only perform work they are comfortable having recorded and shared publicly.

Cameras will also be present during the event for attendees. The main focus of the cameras will be the performing artists, not direct close-ups of the audience. Crowd footage may be captured in wider shots to show the atmosphere and energy of the event.

By attending or participating in this event, you acknowledge that you may appear in event-related media shared online or through promotional platforms.
